- Software design, development, and deployment - Demonstrate your proficiency in software solution design, Git usage, CI/CD pipeline troubleshooting, and diagnosing performance issues for effective deployment.
- Infrastructure as code - Show your expertise in developing Python REST APIs and CLI applications for configuring networks, efficiently consuming APIs, creating and managing Ansible roles, and orchestrating infrastructure using Terraform.

Prerequisites

The core exam focuses on your knowledge of software development and design, including using APIs, Cisco platforms, application deployment and security, and infrastructure and automation.
Step 2: Pass the lab exam
CCIE Automation Practical Exam v1.1 (8-hour lab)
The Cisco Automation Expert (v1.1) Practical Exam is an 8-hour, hands-on exam that requires a candidate to plan, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions within complex automation-driven network environments.
Recertification
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Automation certification is valid for three years.
