Course Overview

The CompTIA® Network + course is designed to help you prepare for the N10-007 exam, in which you will describe the major networking technologies, systems, skills, and tools in use in modern networks. Taking this course and using this student guide will help you prepare for the certification. You should also refer to the exam objectives to see how they map to the course content.

It is strongly recommended that delegates undertake further post-course self-study before attempting the associated exam.

CompTIA Network+ N10-007 has been updated and reorganized to address the current networking technologies with expanded coverage of several domains by adding:

  • Critical security concepts to helping networking professionals work with security practitioners
  • Key cloud computing best practices and typical service models
  • Coverage of newer hardware and virtualization techniques
  • Concepts to give individuals the combination of skills to keep the network resilient

Who should attend

CompTIA Network+ is the first certification IT professionals specializing in network administration and support should earn. Network+ helps develop a career in IT infrastructure covering troubleshooting, configuring, and managing networks.

Prerequisites

Students should meet the following criteria prior to taking the course:

  • Taken and passed both CompTIA A+ Certification exams or have 9-12 months knowledge and experience of IT administration.
  • Be able to configure and support PC, laptop, mobile (smartphone / tablet), and print devices.
  • Know basic network terminology and functions (such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, switches, routers).
  • Configure and manage users, groups, and shared resources in a simple SOHO network.
  • Understand the use of basic access control measures, such as authentication, security policy, encryption, and firewalls.
