What’s new with the CCNP Cisco Certified Professional Routing & Switching Courses?

technical_pitstop

We recently informed you about Cisco’s changes to the certification path for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing & Switching at the end of the summer, and announced the updated courses which map to the new exam requirements.

Fast Lane have successfully been delivering the version 2.0 courses since the beginning of September, and it seems both our delegates and instructors are impressed and excited by the refreshed content, which has been updated to include IPv6 and the new style Challenge and Discovery virtual labs that form part of the practical element of the course.

So, what are Discovery Labs?

The majority of the labs in the new courses are Discovery labs. They provide a learning environment that enables delegates to understand about principles and technology in an interactive, hands-on way. Once the instructor has delivered a subject to the class, delegates have the opportunity to immediately practice and configure what they have just learned. They are extremely well written and explain what you are doing and exactly why you are doing it.

What are Challenge Labs?

As the name suggests, the Challenge labs are mapped to content from the same modules, but are intended to challenge delegates and therefore much less information is provided by way of instruction. They are designed to test student’s knowledge, and therefore take slightly longer and will be more difficult to complete.

Not only are these new style labs incredibly well structured and written, but delegates will receive access for 90 days – so in addition to having full remote access to the equipment to complete exercise during the course, delegates are able to reinforce their learning and practice their new skills following the course and before sitting the exam. Each delegate receives 50 hours of lab access included within the price of their CCNP R&S course with Fast Lane.

The course contents have been updated and the slides are clearer than ever, with improved subject notes.

Delegates should complete the following courses as preparation for the exams within the !CCNP Routing & Switching Certification

NOTE: ROUTE / SWITCH can be taken in any order, but must be completed before attending TSHOOT:
