The Cisco Unified Wireless Network

Cisco recently released version 4.1 of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network code which brings many enhancements and new possibilities to wireless networks design and robustness. For example:

Troubleshooting: A new client troubleshooting tool on WCS, allows the administrator to determine, in a few clicks, the cause of connection problems;
Chokepoint integration: this enhances considerably the location accuracy indoors;
Outdoor location: it is now possible to start determining the position of an object in outdoor mesh networks. There is also more flexibility to allow the use of both A and b/g spectrum for client access.
Improved call admission control for voice: before accepting a call, the AP also checks all the wireless parameters, interferences coming from other channels and interferences from other access points on the same channel. This really makes CAC (call admission control) efficient in a wireless environment.

Cisco is probably the first vendor to take all these parameters into consideration to make their wireless offering really proficient.
