Fast Lane and Ingram Micro Partner to Offer Cisco Training Services

Fast Lane, the specialist Cisco Learning Partner, today announces the formation of a strategic partnership with Ingram Micro UK, the UK division of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services

The partnership will enable Ingram Micro to offer training services to resellers and their customers to ensure that they are able to keep their skills current and maintain their Cisco certification levels.

A series of focussed programmes will be available. The early focus will be on IP Telephony, Security and Wireless together with a sales development programme for resellers.

Commenting on the agreement, Clive Hailstone, Head of Ingram Micro Networking Services, said: “There is a growing shortage of skills in these technologies that is becoming more acute as the IT economy recovery continues. We have recognised the need to offer specialist training services to our resellers in order to enable them to be competitive in the market and, after a detailed evaluation, we chose to partner with Fast Lane as they have in depth Cisco expertise in the UK market. Fast Lane’s credentials and creative proposition provides us with an impressive value-add that we feel will help us to grow our channel.”

Peter Olive, Managing Director of Fast Lane said, “Given the Cisco indirect go to market model, it was important to us that we have a strong distribution partner. Ingram Micro has a clear growth strategy that is in line with our own and for us it was the perfect partnership. They are easy to work with, an essential component in any successful partnership”

Ingram Micro will be aiming to grow its channel through Cisco’s Challenge and Reward program, with training representing an important and integral component in this strategy. A range of significant incentives will be offered to resellers including subsidised training through Cisco’s Leaning Credits scheme.

Phillip Wright of Cisco said, “Ensuring our reseller base grows and is appropriately skilled is critical to us. The partnership between Ingram Micro and Fast Lane is good news for Cisco as it brings together two focussed and growing Cisco partners who can now offer training services to their resellers.”
